Since 1987, McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory has provided compassionate burial, memorial, cremation, and funeral services to families across Columbus, Georgia, Phenix City, Alabama, and the surrounding areas. Our commitment to honoring life with dignity and respect has remained steadfast for generations.
The McMullen family legacy in Columbus began with James McMullen, who grew up working alongside his father at McMullen Garage and Service Station on Andrews Road. A 1958 graduate of Jordan High School, James served in the U.S. Army before returning home to begin his 50-year career in funeral service. In 1987, he and his son, Allen McMullen, along with their family, established McMullen Mortuary in downtown Columbus.
With a deep commitment to personalized, compassionate funeral care, the firm soon outgrew its original location. In 1997, the family designed and built a state-of-the-art 18,000-square-foot funeral home at 3874 Gentian Boulevard, where we continue to serve families today. Following James McMullen’s passing in 2015, our dedication to meaningful tributes and professional excellence remains unchanged.
