It is with deep sadness that we share with family and friends the loss of Theresia Reinhart, beloved Wife, Mother, Oma, and Uroma. On February 4, 2022, she passed away gracefully at the age of 92.

Theresia Reinhart was born in Fussen, Germany, on March 21, 1929, to Heinrich and Magdalena Demmel Schoder. During World War II, Theresia worked long, hard hours on a local farm in exchange for milk and also, worked at a local butcher shop to help provide for her family. While working at the butcher shop, she attracted the gaze of a young American GI. The two quickly became inseparable, and William Bernard Reinhart, despite the cultural and language barrier, won over her heart.

In 1950, they married and traveled on the USS General Maurice Rose to the United States. Excited and enthusiastic about new opportunities, yet saddened for leaving her family and all she had ever known in Germany, Theresia soon became an American citizen. Not long after coming to the United States, she had her first child, Joan, who was born in Fort Benning, GA, and several years later, she had a son, William, born in Munich, Germany. She was an avid swimmer and loved weekend gatherings where she would host friends and family while cooking a feast to celebrate life. Theresia will be remembered for her resilience in the face of adversity and her constant positivity through it all. She was a very strong willed woman who believed that hard work and determination would always persevere no matter the circumstance.

Theresia Reinhart was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years William B.; brothers, Heinrich Demmel (Frieda), Josef Demmel (Rosemarie); and sister Rose McDearmont (Charles). She is survived by her two children, Joan M. Foucault (Tom Pretzer) and William J. Reinhart (Wanna), and by three grandchildren, Aimee Foucault, Blake Reinhart (Ashley), and Amber Castellow (Bobby); five great grandchildren, Saige Cardis (Ethan), Dustin Corrales, Dayna Corrales, Carter Castellow, and Lincoln Castellow; a great great grandchild Grayson Cardis; sisters Leni Carroll (Don) and Maria Janosch (Poldi); and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Her family especially wishes to thank Dr. Yolanda Gray-Davis, MD, staff at Martin Army Hospital, Covenant Woods Personal Care Staff, and Brookside Glen Staff.
