Susan "Sue" Badcock

Susan “Sue” Badcock, age 56 of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 after a short hospitalization at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 12, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Sue was born February 9,1966 in New Orleans, LA to the late Andrew H. and Betty Jo Harris Young.  She was the youngest of four children. Sue graduated from Columbus State University with an education degree and from The University of West Georgia with a Master’s in Library Science.  She taught in Muscogee County for several years. Sue was an avid gardener and loved sharing the vegetables from her garden with family, friends and neighbors. Her Blue Heeler, Minnie, was her canine companion and love of her life.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her daughters; Samantha Badcock Rhodes (Carl) and Katherine“Katie” Margaret Badcock; her brothers, Andrew “Andy” H. Young III (Renee), James Anthony “Tony” Young and Joe Bruce Young (Teresa); nephews, Ryan Young (Michelle) and Drew Young; niece, Kristen Young and special friend Wilbur “Will” Brescia.
