Peggy Lucille (Mcdaniel) Thompson

Peggy Lucille McDaniel Thompson, 81 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Columbus Hospice House.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM Monday, March 8, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Johnathon Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Mrs. Thompson was born June 06, 1939 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late John Sydney McDaniel, Sr. and Mildred Lucille McDaniel. She worked for many years for Sears, Roebuck & Company. She started working behind the candy counter in downtown Columbus. Through the years, she held many positions with Sears. Mrs. Thompson retired as an Allstate Insurance Agent. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga. and the Circle of Love Sunday School Class and was a faithful supporter of the Sound Choices Ministry.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her siblings, John Sydney McDaniel, Jr., Betty and Charles McDaniel.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Larry Thompson; children, Kim Capps and her husband Joe, Kathy Bowman and her husband Danny; grandchildren, Joseph Capps (Laura), Mallory Bowman Harris, Kallan Bowman Berry (Kris), Kelsey Bowman Farrington (Cary), 9 great grandchildren her brother, Gary McDaniel (Dianne) and many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
