Peggy Ann Holmes

Peggy Ann Holmes, 88, of Columbus, GA, died Friday August 10, 2018 at her residence in Savannah Grand Assisted Living in Columbus, GA. She lived at Covenant Woods for several years prior to moving to Savannah Grand.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Monday August 20, 2018 at the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, with Reverend Donnie Cook officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday August 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Holmes was born January 4, 1930 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late N.V. Oakley and Annie Moye Oakley. Mrs. Holmes was the manager of Loveman's ladies apparel. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. She loved her church family. She was also a member of the American Business Women Association. She loved to travel to Honolulu, HI to see her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed the family beach house in North Carolina and in her later years she loved to visit the beaches in Florida. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband Otis R. Holmes.
Survivors include her daughter, Mitzi Crow (Loyd) of Midland, GA, son, Dr. Stephen Holmes of Honolulu, HI, brother, Dr. William E. Oakley (Dody) of Rocky Mount, NC, grandchildren, Chandler Crow of Atlanta, GA, Michael Holmes (Natasha) of Honolulu, HI, Dr. Laura Holmes of Los Angeles, CA, Emalie Holmes of Atlanta, GA, niece and nephews, Dr. Chip Oakley (Vivian) of Orlando, FL, Louann Liggett (Scott) of Hilton Head, SC, and Chris Oakley of Rocky Mount, NC.
