The good Lord, in His wisdom, summoned His angel, Pamela E. (Turner) Parker, RN, FNP-BC, 69, on earth to join Him on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in a matter of weeks after she became ill. She will continue her angelic ways in spirit on a much larger scale now.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Pam was born November 1, 1952, in a military hospital in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Roy and Gloria Turner. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1970, she went on to graduate from Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in June 1973, Troy State University with a BS in Nursing in 1993 and a Master’s of Science in Nursing, earning her board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1997. Pam began her career as an ICU nurse for 22 years at The Medical Center (Piedmont Columbus Regional). She finished her career as an FNP in geriatrics at Nursing Homes Azalea Trace and Hamilton House, retiring in 2017. Pam was a nurse caring for people for 44 years.
She is survived by her heartbroken husband of 25 years, Edward Parker, and her two 4-legged children, Maisie and Ziva; her brother, Roy S. Turner; sisters-in-law, Louise Turner and Kim Turner; nieces, Nichole (Turner) Thomas, Kati Turner, Kelli (Turner) Gibbons, and Jennifer Turner; nephew, Christopher Turner; great niece, Sydney Thomas, and great nephews, Owen Thomas and Turner Gibbons. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Neal Turner and Glenn Turner. She will truly be missed by her loved ones.
