Neal Womack

Neal Ivan Womack, 82 of Upatoi, GA died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence.

Private services will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at Solid Rock Church 6959 Warm Springs Rd, Midland, GA 31820 with Dr. Jay Bailey officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the services. The services will be live streamed on www.Solidrock.-com. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID- 19 facemasks and social distancing will be required during the service.

Neal was born October 7, 1938 in Tucker, GA to the late Charles Horace Womack and Edna Irene Smith Womack. He was the youngest of 8 children. He was the owner/operator of a nursery previously known as the Neal Womack Nursery now known as Tomar Nursery and was in the nursery business for over 60 years. He was a member of Solid Rock Church, enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, Georgia Bulldogs College Football, and loved his plants.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Louise Womack and sons, Anthony "Tony" Neal Womack and wife Tina, and Mark Kevin Womack and his wife Kim. He is also survived by his sister, Hallie Cruce of Monroe, GA, and brother, Dan Womack of Hartwell, GA , two grandchildren Gabriel “Gabe” Womack , Jeremiah "Jeremy" Womack and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Neal received many honors and awards for his service to his community. He was always eager to give a helping hand to those in need and never met a stranger. Neal loved working with plants and making Columbus and the surrounding area a more beautiful place for all of us to live.
