Jane Davenport McGuire, 91, of Columbus, GA, died September 2, 2021 at her residence in Spring Harbor at Green Island.

Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Jane was born May 24, 1930, to the late Stephen Franklin Davenport and Emmie Chambers Davenport. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Richard McGuire as well as five siblings: brothers Steve and William Davenport, sisters Elizabeth Raines, Lillian Dekok, and Frances Baker.

Survivors include her daughters Phyllis M. Martin of Columbus, GA, Rebecca M. Fyke of Nashville, TN, and son, Jack W. McGuire (Jane) of Panama City, FL. She is also survived by her younger sister Grace Penton (Ben) of Dacula, GA. Grandchildren include Megan Eggena (Tim), Richard McGuire, Rebecca Bryant (Danny), Ryan Malloy (Jesi), Shannon McConnell (Chad) and Claire Fyke Purcell (Richard) along with 16 great-grandchildren: Wright and Sutton Eggena, Vail and Chandler McGuire, Jackson and Caroline Hydrick, Joshua, Andrew, Pax, and Madeline Bryant, Adalyn, Eliana and Brynna Malloy, Asher and Mailyn McConnell and Kacey Purcell.

Jane loved to read, play games, work crossword puzzles, cook, fish, vacationing at the beach and most importantly, spending time with her family. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, was a bowling “champion” in younger years and was known to sew outfits for her children!

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jamal Mohyuddin, staff, nurses, and CNAs at Spring Harbor for all their support and services for our mother during the last 16 years as well as the private caregivers that have been there for our mother.
