Gaynelle Elizabeth (Fountain) Rawlings

Gaynelle Elizabeth Fountain Rawlings 80, of Columbus, Georgia died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Tim Jones officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery. Those who are unable to attend the services may view them LIVE by visiting www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com on Thursday at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Rawlings was born October 05, 1940 in Macon, Georgia daughter of the late Marvin Leonard and Leola Horne Fountain. Mrs. Rawlings began working for the Houston County Division of Family and Children Services before she started traveling with her husband in the military.  She was a graduate of Georgia College and State University and spent 20 years with the Harris County School system working with New Mountain Hill Elementary School.  She was a devoted member of Britt David Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Earl Don Rawlings of Columbus, Georgia; children, Gregory Earl Rawlings and his wife Karen Nobles Rawlings of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jennifer Leigh Gables and her husband Dr. Scott Gables of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lauren Rawlings Register (Ethan), Ashley Claire Rawlings, Jackson Reid Rawlings, Craig Scott Ingram, Micah Gables and Cammie Gables. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren and her sister Carole Rice and her husband Bill.
