Elsie Claire Dent, 95, of Waverly Hall, Ga. died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her daughters residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2018 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jim Emory officiating. Interment will be held in Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dent was born October 22, 1923 in Columbus, Ga. daughter of the late Clyde Reno and Cleo Smith Bryant. She was a homemaker most of her life and worked from Woodland Furniture Manufacturing Company and was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church, Talbot County, Ga. Mrs. Dent loved to read and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Dent was preceded in death by her husband John Preston Dent, Sr.
Survivors include her children, Johnny Dent (Marchia) of Preston, Ga., Sylvia Garrett (Charles) of Woodland, Ga., Becky Thomas (Rob) of Waverly Hall, Ga. and Clyde Dent of Waverly Hall, Ga. 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
