Christopher “Chris” Carl Zirkelbach, 48, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his residence.
A graveside service will be held 12:00PM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Christopher was born October 18,1973 in Anderson, SC, to Martha Zirkelbach and the late Fred W. Zirkelbach. Chris spent 17 years at the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer as a circulation manager. Among other outdoor activities, Chris enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of Auburn football and was an instructor at the University while working on his Doctorate degree.Chris could often be seen working and playing golf at Bull Creek. He is preceded in death by father, Fred Zirkelbach, and sister, Kimberly Ann.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Zirkelbach of Columbus, GA, uncles, Johnny Zirkelbach(Barbara) of Birmingham, AL; Bobby Gibbs (Mary) of Macon, GA;Jimmy Motos (Barbara) of Columbus and aunt, Brenda Connally- Brown (Duane) of Ellerslie, GA, as well as several cousins.
