Zelma Elaine Brewster

Zelma Elaine Brewster, 92, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM March 17, 2021 with Rev. James Gunn and Rev. Rodger Morrison officiating at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, 31907. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Brewster will be buried at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Alabama alongside her deceased husband Charlie Brewster.

Mrs. Brewster, daughter of Ralph and Violet Gunn, was born on January 15, 1929 in Demorest, Georgia.  She was a loving wife and mother of her two daughters.  She loved to attend and work in the church; she enjoyed listening to gospel music, and bird watching.  She loved to travel, sew, cook and work in her garden. She was loved by everyone and never met a stranger. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God and a member of the 29ers club for many years. Mrs. Brewster will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Brewster-Harris (David), Portia Walker (JR), four siblings; Winnie Wade (Arnold), Hazel Franklin (Terry), James Gunn (Mary), Frances Ward (Terry) numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
