Yoshiko (Yoshi) Ikeda Hendrick

Yoshiko (Yoshi) Ikeda Hendrick, age 92, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday June 12, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Hospital.
A memorial service for Yoshi will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2023 at Ft. Moore Main Post Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Merritt officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Yoshi was born August 22, 1930 in Osaka, Japan, daughter of the late Tomozo Ikeda and Yaono Hamanaka Ikeda. Yoshi grew up in Tokyo, Japan during WWII and after the war worked with the American military to arrange housing for the American troops stationed there. In 1955 she traveled to Denver, Colorado with her husband, the late CSM (ret.), James T. Hendrick. She was a stay at home mom and was an excellent seamstress.
Other than her parents and husband and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Yukio Ikeda and her sister, Nobuko Ikeda Ohsogi.
She is survived by her son, James Thomas Hendrick, Jr. (Linda); and her daughter, Alicia Hendrick Hall. Yoshi is also survived by her five grandchildren, Caleb Hendrick (Karlyn), Seth Hendrick (Chanel), Micah Hendrick (Emily), Blair Hall and Grace Hall; seven great grandchildren who affectionately called her GG and several nieces and nephews.
