Yoko Urata Heather, 83, of Columbus, Georgia died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 31, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Funeral Home, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Pastors Brad Melton officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Heather was born February 27, 1930 in Fukuoka, Japan daughter of the late Shisuma and Kiyo Urata. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Heather; and son-in-law Frank Martin.
Mrs. Heather was retired from West Point Pepperell Mill and attended Living Way Four Square Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Heather Martin and Kathy Heather Gibson (Kerry); one son, Arthur L. Heather (Tammy) all of Columbus, Georgia; two grandchildren; Leslie Maser (Nick) and Matthew Heather; father of Leslie, Dennis Clement (Susan) of Crawford, Alabama; and a dear friend Brenda Westbrook of Fortson, Georgia.
