Wilmer Allen Hagler, 82, a resident of The Gardens at Calvary in Columbus, GA, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Hagler was born October 22, 1932 in Barbour County, AL, son of the late Waldon and Vela Mae Hagler. He was a graduate of Troy State University and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Mr. Hagler was a manager with McDonalds Restaurant and later worked in construction in Columbus.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hagler and son, Jeff Hagler.
Survivors include his two daughters, Jody Durie (Robert) of Oxford, AL and Jeni Merritt (Mark) of Columbus, GA; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Merritt (Alex), Kelly Pearse (Ryan), and Colman Merritt; one great-grandchild, Malachi Pearse; siblings, Don Hagler (Gail) and Harvey Hagler (Merle); mother-in-law, Helen Coleman and sister-in-law, Betty Adams both of Columbus, GA.
The family would like to thank The Gardens of Calvary Staff for their exceptional care of Mr. Hagler during his stay.
