William "Billy" C. Clemons

William “Billy” C. Clemons Sr., 94, of Columbus, Georgia died Monday, January 30, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Billy was born January 7, 1929 to Tom and Sophronie Clemons in Thomaston, Georgia. He grew up in Fitzgerald, GA and later served his country in the United States Navy. He married Wanda Thaxtion on February 19, 1949 and lovingly described her as “Billy’s Bride”. He was a Master Electrician and co-owned a local electrical business for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wanda, and five children – Reba Shorts (Neil) of Cooperstown, PA, Cathy Clemons of Buford, GA, Carey Clemons (Kris) of Cataula, GA, Beth Atkinson (Marshall) of Pine Mountain, GA, Amy Reiff (Stan) of Buford, GA, sister-in-law Reba Crisp of Pine Mountain, GA, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Bible Methodist Missions, Clemons Memorial Offering at 40 Skyview Lane, Pell City, AL 35125.
