William James Watkins, 78, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church 959 54th St. Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Jerry Speer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. Watkins was born March 15, 1940 in Columbus, GA son of the late Calvin George Watkins and Leona Studdard Watkins. He worked as a mechanic for Ft. Benning for 25 years and attended Northside Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, talking and working on lawnmowers.Other than his parents William was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann Watkins Forrest.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dianna Howard Watkins of Columbus, GA, sons, Brad Griffin and Jason Walker both of Columbus, GA, daughter, Lynn Willard of Columbus, GA, sister, Pam Cofield of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Jason Willard (Karen) and Justin Willard (Sarah) all of Atlanta, GA, great-grandchild, Aniston Willard of Atlanta, GA, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
