Born in Binghamton, New York to the late Walter Augustus Morse and the late Geraldine Vera Smith Morse, Bill loved his hometown and visited often. A retired, decorated Army veteran, Bill proudly served his country and was wounded in the Vietnam War. He received the Bronze Star Medal with Valor and the Purple Heart Medal for his service. He retired to Columbus, Georgia with the love of his life, the late Gloria Dudley Morse. They had five children, but the house was always filled with neighborhood kids, friends and family. After the passing of his wife, his children and grandchildren became his life, spending every possible minute with them, and they loved a sleepover at "papa's" house.
