William Thomas Mcsweeney

William Thomas McSweeney, 61, of Columbus, GA died August 28, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital. A

Memorial Service will be held at a later date in New York, his true home, according to McMullen Funeral

Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

William was born October 3, 1958 in Far Rockaway, NY to the late Doris Wachsberger McSweeney.

William will always be remembered by his family and close friends as Willie, by his co-workers as Bill,

and most importantly by his children as Dad. He loved his family and enjoyed walking. His most favorite

places to be was at home with his family and the ocean.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor McSweeney (from Glen Cove, NY) currently living in Columbus, GA;

children, William McSweeney (Victoria) of Cape Coral, FL, Thomas McSweeney of Columbus, GA,

Amanda McSweeney of Columbus, GA; siblings, Robert McSweeney (Kim) of Carlisle, PA, Patricia

Mathews (Scott) of Pinebrook, NJ, Catherine Post (Ansley) of Newnan, GA, Paul McSweeney of East

Hanover, NJ, James McSweeney (Monica) of Sommers, NY; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family

members.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Army Emergency Relief.
