William Devereaux Jarrett, Jr., 67, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Thom Peavy officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Jarrett was born February 1, 1949 in Columbus, GA son of W.D. and Frieda Joyce Parker Jarrett. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He retired from the Muscogee County School District, retired as a teacher from West Georgia Central, and retired as a teacher for the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Survivors other than his parents include his wife of 45 years, Birdie Jarrett of Columbus, GA, three children, William D. III "Dev" Jarrett and his wife, Jennie, Jennifer Redmond and her husband, Robby, and Wade Jarrett all of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, brother, Larry Jarrett and his wife, Tamara of Columbus, GA, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
