William C. Gibbons 92 of Columbus died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday September 4, 2010 at Beallwood
Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held in
Parkhill Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Active and Inactive Deacons of Beallwood Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Mr. Gibbons was born August 21, 1918 in Geneva County, Al. son of the late Crayon
and Hattie Pippin Gibbons. He retired after 34 years from Swift Textile and was a member of
Beallwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Gibbons was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Gladys C. Gibbon, one brother
Reginal Gibbons and two sisters Mittie May and Mae Leddon.
Survivors include one daughter Joyce Holloway (Morris) of Dothan, Al., two sons Bobby Gibbons
(Bonnie) of Columbus, Ga. and Paul Gibbons of Columbus, Ga., 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren
and 3 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
