William Henry Gafford, Sr., 79, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. An interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Mr. Gafford was born July 25, 1934 in Cusseta, GA son of the late George D. Gafford and Isabelle Clegg Gafford. He retired from Tom's Food after 46 years as a supervisor. Mr. Gafford was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia J. McDowell Gafford; brother, George Gafford; and sister, June Gafford.
Survivors include his son, Bill Gafford (Tina) of Carrollton, GA; daughter, Tamara Knight (Don) of Columbus, GA; brother, Tommy Gafford (Cleo) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Knight (Jessica), Andrew Knight (Corri) and Page Knight all of Columbus, GA, Brian Gafford of Tuscaloosa, AL and Brent Gafford of Symra, GA.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Columbus
