William Wayne Brooks, 68, of Columbus, GA died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Brooks was born July 7, 1943 in Union Springs, AL son of the late Florence Gibson Brooks and Bessie Renfroe Brooks. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years and worked as a HVAC Technician for Shaw Infrastructure. He also attended Glenn Anthony Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Brooks.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Jeter Brooks, daughter, Donna Peterson (Paul), sons, Steve Beasley (Crystal) and Eddie Beasley (Kelle), brother, Ronnie Brooks (Beverly) all of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to Vista Care Hospice 100 Brookstone Ctr. Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 or to Magnolia Manor Nursing Home 2010 Warm Springs Rd. Columbus, GA 31904.
