William E. "Bill" Brennan, 82, of Columbus died on Monday April 21st, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House. He was attended by friends and family during his final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday April 29th in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Jeremiah McCarthy celebrant. Burial at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery immediately following.
Bill was born October 28th 1931 in Lynn, MA to Thomas and Esther (Martin) Brennan. He is predeceased by his sister Fran Kenney and brothers John, George and Tom. He leaves many nieces and nephews, and is survived by his son Andrew, of Prescott, AZ.
After serving in the Korean Conflict, Bill earned a BA in Aeronautical Engineering from Boston University. Recruited into General Electric's management training program, he rose to executive rank at ITT's international HQ in Brussels, Belgium and travelled extensively throughout Europe. Before retiring from Textron in Columbus, his career spanned the aerospace industry and the nation, including management of significant programs for the F/A-18, C-130 and Space Shuttle.
An avid boater, Bill's fondest memories were of sailing his Pearson Ensign on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Hospice House or the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy, Eden Hill, Stockbridge, MA 01263.
