William "Bruce" Barnes

William "Bruce" Barnes, 65, of Ellerslie, GA., passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
Due to the public health crisis a Memorial Service for Bruce will be announced at a later date after the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided.
Bruce was born March 28, 1955, in Columbus, GA. son of the late William Harvey Barnes and JoAnn Barnes. Other than his parents he is also preceded in death by his brother Steve Randall Barnes.
Bruce was a locomotive engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad and he retired after 40 years of service. His first job was a lifeguard at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA.
Survivors include his wife Sondra Barnes of Elllerslie, GA. and step-son Ryan Posey (Cindy) of Seattle,WA., grandson Aiden Posey (mother Brandy) of Buford, GA., nephew Bret R. Barnes (Angela) of Statesboro, GA., aunt Adele Wilson of Gardendale, AL., sister in law Genny Barnes of Pine Mountain, GA., several cousins and his railroad family.
