William Ray Archie, 84 of Phenix City, AL, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in New Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Curtis, AL according to Colonial Funeral Home 613 14th Street Phenix City, AL 36867. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. at the funeral Home.
Mr. Archie was born February 10, 1929 in Opp, Alabama the son of the late William Marcus Archie and Julia Elizabeth Grimes Archie. He was a U. S. Army veteran during the Korean conflict and was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Archie had worked as a driver with the Russell County Utilities and was a Barber.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Grace Archie and two sons, Arnold Ray Archie and Christopher Neil Archie.
Survivors include six daughters, Linda Phillips (Thomas) of Talbotton, GA, Glenda Fulton, of Jonesboro, GA, Brenda Densel (Billy), Jan McDonald (Wesley), Cathy Henderson (Ray), and Cheryl Allen (Ronnie) two sons, William Archie and Craig Daniel Archie all of Phenix City, AL. Two brothers, Cecil Archie of Kinston, AL and Herschel Archie of Opp, AL, one sister, Louise McKinney of Opp, AL, eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
