Wilburn Odell Hatley

E-9 SGM. W.O. Hatley, 83, of Columbus, GA passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 4PM Thursday, February 25, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Cowart officiating. A private interment will be held in Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.
SGM Hatley was born June 9, 1926 in Concord, NC son of the late Cletus and Lora V. Linker Hatley. He was a 22 year Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in active combat missions with distinction in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Gwendell Hatley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janie Marie Hatley of Columbus, GA, three daughters, Vicki Norris (Clifford) of Opelika, AL, Sheree Acree (John) of Augusta, GA and Darlene Hatley (Rick Longoria) of Jonesboro, TN, one son, Gary Hatley (Debra) of Columbus, GA, six grandchildren, Derek, Dayle, Jay, Eric, Jack and Sarah, two great grandchildren, Kacey and Britney. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
