Wesley "Pappy" Parker Brown, 70, of Cusseta, GA, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Service will be held 3 PM Sunday, December 29, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, 31907 with Rev. Chris Hess officiating. A private interment will be in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-3 PM at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers include; Jared Brown, Harry Ligon, Bryan Barbree, Randy Daughtery, Rod Rodriguez, Harry Lehman. Honorary Pallbearers include; William Corcoran, Howell Conkle, Larry Dillard, Boyce Hanner, Cecil McMickle, James Butler, Dr. James Hagler, Flem Smith, and Stuart Nicholas.
Pappy was born August 15, 1943 in Charleston, SC. His parents were the late Foy P. Brown and Eloise Faircloth Brown of Donalsonville, GA. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Buena Vista, GA. He loved the Lord, his family, and southern gospel music. He was an avid outdoorsman and instilled that in his grandchildren with frequent fishing trips and ranger rides. He worked at Alaga Paint Company with his brother, Dale Brown for 44 years.
Pappy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Faye McDonald Brown, 3 children and 6 grandchildren; Patrick Brown (Lisa) and their children Rachel and Shaun, Stacey Love (Mike) and their children Shelby, Kaley, and Garett, Sheryl Brown (Ricky) and their son Blake, siblings; Dale Brown (Jimmie Lee), Steve Brown (Doris), Robin Brown (Patricia), Nancy Barbree (Hilton); his step-mother-in-law, Ruby McDonald; his step-father-in-law, Jack Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, INC Pine Mountain Campus P. O.
