Wayne Oneal Patterson, Jr.

Wayne Oneal Patterson, Jr., 59, the hardest working man on this planet, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside in Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Deacon Bernie Bosse officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on June 10, 1963 to the late Wayne Oneal Patterson, Sr. and Mary “Judy” Moss Patterson. Wayne began taking care of others at a young age. A floor installer by trade for many years, he spent the last several years in construction learning to do things he never imagined he could do.

Wayne never met a stranger. He would give the shirt off his back to whomever needed his help. Wayne loved fishing, hunting, cooking, watching NASCAR, especially Chase Elliot, football (Auburn and the Falcons) and working on his property.

In addition to his mother, Wayne leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Ann Marie Patterson; his darling daughter, Cami Phillips (Don); he was a loving Pappy to five amazing grandchildren, Patterson, Cassandra, Kayla, Ethan, and Henry, who sadly will not get the chance to see them grow up and flourish; his sisters, Rita Reddish, Dena Anderson, a special brother, Adam Anderson; a host of nieces and nephews, Jessica, Kyle, Jamie Leigh, Maverick, Ashley, Anna, Angus, Austin, Alise; special friend and mentor, Mr. Hall; several other friends and extended family; his beloved fur babies who will miss him beyond belief, especially Kirby.

One will never understand how someone as vibrant and full of life was taken so soon and so suddenly from us, however, this is yet another reason to hug the ones you love just a little tighter because you never know if this may be the last time you see them.
