Wayne P. Melvin

Wayne P. Melvin, 72, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Melvin was born May 22, 1945 in Statesville, NC son of the late Edward Dewey Melvin, Sr. and Sadie Selph Melvin. He worked as an Office Designer/Interior Decorator for Bumbarger's Inc. for the majority of his career before becoming National Sales Manager for Quaker Furniture.
He was also a hardworking man who led by example in every aspect of his life. He approached life with a servant's heart having God at the center.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Melvin of Columbus, GA, son, Ryan Chadwick Melvin and his wife, Melanie Folger Melvin, grandchildren, Adaline Grace Melvin and Grant Edward Melvin all of Hamilton, GA, brother, James Barney Melvin and his wife, Sadie Franklin Melvin of Milan, GA, and sister-in-law, Leanne Easter Cook of Albemarle, NC.
