It is with deepest sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Warren Clince Phillips, affectionately known as Buff, who was born on August 31, 1973, in Ft. McClellan, AL, and transitioned peacefully on October 19, 2023, in Columbus, GA due to diabetic complications.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2023, at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Buff was a man of many passions, but music held a special place in his heart. His creativity, intelligence, and passion for music were apparent to all who knew him, and this passion led him to a career in music production. Buff was a proud alumnus of the DODDS Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Hanau and Frankfurt, Germany, and Spencer High School in Columbus, GA. His love for music was infectious, and he often said that "the beat goes on." Indeed, his legacy in music will continue to live on through his son, Elijah Jackson-Phillips.

Buff was a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his loving son, Elijah Jackson-Phillips (Dominique Jackson) of Columbus, GA, his father, Willie Wayne Phillips of Huntsville, AL, and his mother, Carolyn Pugh Harris of Columbus, GA, step-father Jimmie Harris, siblings, Tammara LaShon Phillips of Columbus, GA, Corey Phillips of Huntsville, AL, and Jessica Ellen Phillips of Clarksville, TN, they will remember him fondly. He also leaves behind his nephews, Kelvin Phillips, DeVon Phillips of Columbus, GA, and Landon Phillips of Huntsville, AL. His aunts, Vernetta Foster (Derrick Sr.) of Anniston, AL, Vivian Thompson of Anniston, AL, and Jereline Phillips Jackson of Harvest, AL, they will miss his infectious laughter and spirit.

Buff was blessed with a group of close friends who were like family to him. His best friends, Moray Middleton, Ivan Kauffman, and Vanessa Randolph of Columbus, GA, along with a host of cousins and friends, will miss his warm presence and his unwavering dedication to his craft.

Buff was a man who lived by the words of the great Albert Einstein, "Creativity is intelligence having fun." His creativity was not only evident in his music but also in the way he lived his life. He was a compassionate man who cared deeply for his family and friends, and his passion for music and life was contagious.

Buff's life was a testament to his resilience, creativity, and passion. He was a beacon of light to those around him, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His love for music and his dedication to his craft will live on through the beats he created and through the lives he touched. Buff's life may have ended, but his beat goes on.

While we mourn the loss of Buff, we also celebrate his life and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy and the memories he created will live on in our hearts forever.
