A beautiful light just went out, Mrs. Walterine Irby Dean, 84, of Columbus, GA passed away October 13, 2010.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tommy Mayton officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
She was the only child of Dr. W. W. Irby and Mrs. Alpha Williams Irby of Meridian, MS. Her father was a country doctor in the Clarkedale Community beginning in 1911. He made house calls on horseback for four years until he got a model T Ford for $390. Her mother attended Beasonâ
