Walter "Rex" Pearce, Sr., 51, of Lumpkin, GA died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at County Line Cemetery, Lumpkin, GA with Reverend Wayne Williams and Reverend John Burnett officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers Jerry Music, Johnny Singer, Frank Singer, Don Porter, Don Otto, Larry Westbrook and Jay Holloway. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Pearce was born August 29, 1961 in Cuthbert, GA, son of the late Joseph Franklin Pearce and Clarina Brown Pearce. He worked for Singer Truck Sales in the maintenance department.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Denise Pearce.
Survivors include his sons, Frankie Pearce (Ashley Wood) of Newnan, GA, Rex Pearce, Jr. of Lumpkin, GA and Jamie Pearce of Lumpkin, GA; brothers, Maurice Pearce (Donna) of Columbus, GA and Ragan Pearce (Jayne) of Preston, GA; special friend, Lisa Funderburke of Lumpkin, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial contributions to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
