Walter David Milam, 65 of Columbus died Friday, April 19, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 22, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jay Bailey and Rev. Mike McBride officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Milam was born October 12, 1947 in Columbus, GA son of Ruben Berry Milam, Jr of Columbus, GA and the late Patricia Ann Everidge Milam. He worked in construction and was a member of Solid Rock Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his gardens.
Other than his father he was survived by his wife, Peggy Dixon of Columbus, GA; sons, Rev. John David Milam (Lori) of Milledgeville, GA and Vincent E. Milam (Melanie) of Rincon, GA; step son, Chris Dixon (Sheila) of Fortson, GA; step daughters, Shannon Brooks (Joe) of Smiths, AL and Shelby Hood (Todd) of Spartenburg, SC; sister, Sandra Milam Gibson (Levon ) Dunwoody, GA; brother, Mike Milam (Shari) of Midland, GA; grandchildren, John David, Hayley, Seth and Kallaway Milam, Samantha, Marcus and Caroline Dixon, Heather Archer (Evans), Chance Frazier and Ivey Hutcherson; great grandchild Elleigh Archer and several nieces and nephews.
