Walter Charles "W. C." Miers, 90, of Phenix City, AL died Friday, January 26, 2018 at Parkwood Healthcare in Phenix City, AL.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Marvin Minton officiating. Visitation with viewing will be held Sunday from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
W. C was born July 23, 1927 in Buena Vista, GA, son of the late Charles M. Curlee and Bessie Mae Miers. He was raised by his grandmother and served in the United States Navy on the USS Benner. W.C. later retired after 37.5 years from Ford Motor Company Rouge Plant as a Tool and Die Operator.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of almost 50 years of marriage, Bertha Eloise Gaffney Miers.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" H. Miers of Phenix City, AL; children, Debra Miers Perry (Lynn) of Oakmont, PA and Charles Thomas Miers (Sandi) of Montgomery, TX; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Perry of Denver, CO, David Perry (Karri) of Springfield, MO and Jonathan Perry (Natalie) of Perth, Australia; and 5 great-grandchildren, Liana and Nate Perry of Springfield, MO and Elijah, Liam and Audrey Grace Perry of Perth, Australia and cousin, Mollie Weed Greer of West Virginia.
