Mr. Wallace Jerry Baker, 65 of Fortson, GA died Monday, August 19, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held at 11:30AM, Wednesday August 21, 2013 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Pastor David Rathal officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Rivertown Church, 6953 Schomburg Road, Columbus, GA, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.
Mr. Baker was born May 14, 1948 in Miami, Florida son of the late Wallace Jay Baker and Clair Malone Baker. He served as an SP5 and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army on May 28, 1971.
Wallace Jerry Baker was known to many as Jerry. He loved to be on the road in his trucks. His favorite things to do were racing cars, hunting, and being a father and grandfather.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Victoria.
Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Baker Blair(Raymond) of Columbus, Ga, son Pete Baker of Fortson, Ga, his grandchildren Taylor Frazier, Raymond Blair Jr., Dylan Baker, Bailey Baker, Hannah and Austin Chester; half sister Deborah, aunt Virginia Joan "Joanne" Watson (Forrest), uncle Jack Graham Baker (Mitzie).
