W. Hazel Casteel, 85, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Parker officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Casteel was born December 5, 1925 in Seminole County, GA daughter of the late Willie Barber and Minnie Gaus Barber. She retired from Johnston Industries and was an active member of Living Word Church in Columbus, GA.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Buster" Casteel her son, Steve Casteel and twelve brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sons, James Casteel (Pat) of Powder Springs, GA and Timothy Casteel (Sharlene) of Ft. Mitchell, AL; her daughter, Rebecca O'Brien of Columbus, GA; her grandchildren, Vickiy Sheely, Lee Casteel, Jason O'Brien, Robert Casteel, Heather Martin, Casey Casteel and Jeremiah Casteel; and seven great grandchildren.
