Virginia "Jinny" Vrooman Butler

Virginia "Jinny" Vrooman Butler, CPS, 75, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay and Elder Pete Meeks officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Jinny was born November 7, 1942 in Watertown, NY daughter of the late Charles Vrooman and Hazel Robbins Vrooman. She worked as the Administrative Assistant for John R. Kinnett, Sr. and John R. Kinnett, Jr. at Kinnett Dairies for 25 years and then worked as an Administrative Assistant for 19 years at Synovus. She loved to shop, knit, bowl and spend time with her family, and Christmas was her favorite holiday.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. James Butler.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Preston (Abb) of Buena Vista, GA, sons, Greg Butler of Wetumpka, AL and Darin Butler of Morriston, FL, sisters, Audrey Meeks (John) of Clayton, NY, Nancy Troutvine (Dave) of Stan Wood, WA and Cindy Waterman (Dana) of Calcium, NY, 3 grandchildren, Jeffery Tucker (Elizabeth), Whitney Bartlett (Michael) and Autumn Preston, 6 great grandchildren, Braelin, Charlie, Clayton, Madison, Ana Sofia and Maycee, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Jinny's name to your favorite charity.
