Virginia Emily Bond, 83 of Columbus, GA died June 28, 2024 at Columbus Hospice with her loving family by her side.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 21, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Virginia was born July 21, 1940 in Lee County, AL to the late Ermon Parker and Jessie Davis Parker. Columbus being a mill town, she had the opportunity to work for several well know mills during her career. To mention a few, there was Fieldcrest Mills, Columbus Mills, Bibb Mills, etc. where she met and developed long-lasting friendships with her co-workers. Virginia was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She loved animals—no matter what it was.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Thomas Bond, Son: Donny Bond and daughter-in-law, Lauria Freeman Bond.
She is survived by her son, Ronny Bond of Columbus, GA, sister, Louise Smallwood of Columbus, GA, Brother, William Parker of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Amanda Bond-Chaney (Chris) and Allison Bond both of Columbus, GA, great grandchildren, Katria Bond, Jamya Chaney, Aaden Chaney, Abbiail Bond and one great great grandchild, Za’Khylen Cherif.
