Violet Bechtholdt Jones, 91, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Violet Bechtdolt Jones, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Born April 10, 1925 in Windsor, CO was the daughter of the late William and Mollie Bechtdolt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. Willis Dale Jones. Officer's wife and well-traveled, she had a 40-year career with J.C. Penney's across three states. She was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years.
She will always be remembered for her kind and loving touch. She could always put a smile on your face, and always made people feel special. She had an extraordinary talent for cooking that could never be duplicated, though tried, and could dance a mean polka. She always put the needs of her family above all and took great care into raising both her daughter, as an incredible mother, and two grandchildren, as the best grandma in the world.
Survivors include her daughter, Trisha and husband, Ralph, grandchildren, Matthew Aaron and Jarrod Leslie, and sister, Linda Schwindt.
