Violet Loudermilk Gruber, 84, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Evangel Temple with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will be held in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Gruber was born January 16, 1934 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Joe Loudermilk and Azalea Amerson Loudermilk. She served The Lord her entire life and was a member of Evangel Temple. She loved being a military wife and homemaker, and the joy of her life was raising her children and grandchildren.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Leon Gruber; son, Charles Johnston; brother, Charles Loudermilk; sisters, Cherry Wells and Gaily Geiger; and first husband of 27 years, Bobby Eugene Johnston.
Survivors include her children, Gary Wayne Johnston (Donna) of Columbus, GA, Candy Johnston Teal (Steve) of Columbus, GA, and Randy Drew Johnston of Cherry Hill, NJ; daughter-in-law, Lisa Brookbank Johnston; grandchildren, Nick Johnston (Lindsey), Chris Johnston (Lainey), Gina Moody (Luke), Greg Lyons, Ashley Hernandez (Bobby) all of Columbus, GA, Jeremy Head of Atlanta, GA, Jenna Ruiz (Gabe) of Columbus, GA, Brian Johnston of Columbus, GA, Caroline Johnston of Kennesaw, GA and Randy Johnston, Jr. of Cherry Hill, NJ, 10 great-grandchildren, and brother, Joey Loudermilk (Pansey) of Ellerslie, GA.
