Verna Ree McLendon, 96, of Columbus, GA died Thursday January 13, 2011 at Vista Care Hospice at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 15, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike McBride officiating. A private Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. McLendon was born February 09, 1914 in Chancellor, Al. daughter of the late Frank and Pauline Boddy Harrison. She retired from Bibb Manufacturing Meritas Yarns Division as a Inspector and was a member
of Trinity Temple Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. McLendon was preceded in death by her husband Forries Franklin McLendon , daughter Rhunette Culpepper, Sister Mary Magdalene Hughes and her brother Buford Harrison.
Survivors include two daughters Janice Porter of Columbus, Ga. and Kay Human of Buford, Ga., one son J.R. (Bobby) McLendon, Jr. of Columbus, Ga., one sister Mary Francis Lemoine of Simmsport, La. 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and 17 Great Great Grandchildren.
