Vanessa Cummings Ridgley, 61, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, August 20, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
The family will have a visitation from 2:00-4:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Vanessa was born January 10, 1963 in Columbus, GA to Mrs. Barbara Spivey Earnest and the late Perry Eugene Cummings. She was a financial analyst with TSYS of Columbus, GA.Vanessa was passionate about music and a gifted clarinetist. She loved animals, particularly her two poodles, Vader and Yoda, and her home was also always open to her children’s friends, many of whom loved her as a second mother.
Other than her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pam Fischer. Survivors include daughters: Maggi Rivera (Ric) and Liza Smith (Dustin) both of Columbus, GA. son: Austin Fetner of Columbus, GA, sister: Terri Kite (Rick) of Phenix City, AL, grandson: Barrett Smith of Columbus, GA and her mother and stepfather, Barbara and Ralph Earnest of Columbus, GA.
