William E. "Bill" Barron, 84, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 12, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Judy Hay officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Barron was born August 18, 1931 in Blakely, GA, son of the late James Hiram Barron and Mattie McLeod Barron. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and later retired from Tom's Foods after 21 years of service. He was a Baptist by faith. He loved his garden, flowers and his numerous other hobbies.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty V. Barron of Columbus, GA; daughter Joni Kay Cummings (Ricky) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Emily N. Cummings, Corey Cummings and Kyle Cummings all of Columbus, GA; and great grandchildren, Caiden and Kinsley Cummings.
Flowers will be accepted; however, those so desiring may make contributions to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909 or a charity of choice.
