Travis Cornelios "Cotton" Rigsby, 68, of Fortson, GA died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend James Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Rigsby was born October 9, 1941 in Chattahoochee Co., GA son of the late Arthur Griffin and Nonie Stewart Rigsby. He had worked for 17 years as a welder with Pasco Steel and 20 years as a carrier with the Ledger Enquirer.
Mr. Rigsby was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ben Rigsby.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Rigsby of Fortson, GA, son, Travis L. Rigsby (Jackie) of Russell Co., AL, four daughters, Sherry Hall (Dana) of Dixfield, ME, Patricia A. Wright of Columbus, GA, Angela C. Miller of Ft. Madison, IA and Renee Williams (Mike) of Kodak, TN, two brothers, Tommy Rigsby of LaGrange, GA and David Rigsby of Fayetteville, NC, sisters, Elizabeth Smith, Emma Pate, Eunice Barnes all of Columbus, GA, Ella Mae Baker of Fayetteville, NC and Alice Simmons of Columbus, GA, nineteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
