Tomoko Yoshida Harrell, 86, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at her residence.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Tomoko Yoshida Harrell was born on December 3, 1929 in Hanamaki Iwate Japan. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A kind and compassionate person, an exceedingly generous soul, she was sunshine and made the world a better place just by being here. She was the best of all of us. A talented cook and seamstress and enjoyed her time with her Japanese girlfriends. They were very special to her, like sisters. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Yoshitaro and Chiya Yoshida brothers Shiigejii, Yotodo, husband Peter Wiley Harrell, son and daughter in law Verdo and Marjorie Harrell. She is survived by her children Jerome and Flavia Harrell, Robert and Robin Harrell, Victor Harrell, and Mary Harrell. Grandchildren Stephanie Knight, Ben and Elizabeth Floyd, Peter Michael and Evie Harrell, Randy and Laura Harrell, Mary Liz Harrell, Jon Fuller, and Lindsey Kelley. Great grandchildren Olivia Ann Knight, Kirkland & Cal Floyd, Jonathan Harrell, Avery and Owen Harrell, Hunter, Kate, & Riley Palmer Durden. A truly amazing woman who made many sacrifices for others and never complained. She was truly our angel and will be greatly missed.
