Tom Hillard Dalton, Sr., 83, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his residence.
Cryptside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at The Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Dalton was born November 2, 1929 in Box Springs, GA son of the late Aaron James Dalton and Eddy B. Sizemore Dalton. He retired from the U.S. Army as an E-7 serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Dianne Hewitt.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Lois Sewell Dalton of Columbus, GA, sons, Tom H. Dalton, Jr. (June) of Columbus, GA and Richard Neal Dalton (Linda) of Neward, DE, sister, Nadine Thornell (Howard) of Cataula, GA, brothers, Lester A. Dalton of Oklahoma, Billy Dalton (Libby) of Georgia and Tim Dalton of Alabama, grandchildren, Christopher Herbert, April, Sherri, Jonathan L. Dalton, Robert Lee Dalton (Kristine), Terry Dalton, Andrew Dalton, Matthew Dalton, David Lee Slay (Mandy) and Fred Barlett, and several great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Serenity Hospice.
