Thomas (T.R) Raymond Smith

Thomas Raymond Smith (T.R), 79 of Cusseta, GA. Passed away August 19, 2022 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.

Upon Thomas’s request, there will not be any funeral services held according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31909.

T.R. was born on August 19, 1943 in Paisley, FL to the late Sudie Lee and Charles (Jack) Smith. He attended the Cusseta United Methodist Church in Cusseta, GA. He served 16 years in the U.S Army, and was a member of Team 162. He served as a police officer for the City of Cusseta, Georgia, T.R. Was also the last elected Justice of the Peace and the first Magistrate Judge of Chattahoochee County, and worked offshore in the oil field.He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, listening to music, and spending quality time with his family. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Charles (Buddy) Smith, William (Peck) Smith, and Paul Smith, his four sisters, Sam Taylor, Annie (Bunch) Cole, Doris Smith, and Wanda (Minnie) Green.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years Zaidee Rachel Smith, two sisters, Judy Sanchez (Alan), Cathy Robinson, and sister-in-law, Sandy Smith, four sons, Charles Smith (Mae), Jeffery Smith (Tonya), Thomas Smith Jr. (Teresa), and Darrin Williamson (Amanda), three daughters, Jennifer E. Smith, Jennifer D. Williamson, and Aretta Smith, along with several grandchildren and great- grandchildren that he loved dearly.
