Thomas “Tom” Nelson Mitchell, Jr., 82, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Orchard View Nursing Home.
A Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery with Mr. Allen Rolkey officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Tom was born September 18, 1939 in Atlanta, GA to the late Thomas Nelson Mitchell, Sr. and Vera Doby Mitchell. He retired from the Army after 22 years of service as a SFC, after retirement he went on to work for Allen’s T.V. Repair in Columbus, GA. He loved watching Western movies, taking care of his family and assisting with the Boy Scouts. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Sue Alford Mitchell and his son, Charles Born.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Mitchell of Columbus, GA, Donovan Mitchell (Margie) of Columbus, GA, daughter in law Cathy Born and grandson, Jared Born.
