Thomas Edwin Tomlinson, 92, of Shelby, NC, formerly of Columbus, GA died Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Shelby, NC
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Tomlinson was born May 17, 1923 in Chambers County, AL, son of the late William R. Tomlinson and Clara Brown Tomlinson.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred E. Tomlinson, brother, James Robert Tomlinson, and sisters, LeMerel Sanders and husband, Bill Sanders and Louise Kirkland and husband, Ben Kirkland.
Survivors include his daughters, Crystal King of Palm City, FL, Debbie Vanderbilt of Davenport, FL, Janie Lebish and husband, Jerry of Columbus, GA and Carol Lennon and husband husband, Bert of Carlisle, PA; sons, Bill Tomlinson and wife, Becky of Cherrville, NC, Tom Vanderbilt of Shelby, NC, Jim Elkins and wife, Carmen of Marion Valley, CA, and Randy Elkins and wife, Patsy of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Courtney Tomlinson of FL, Amanda Tomlinson and husband, Aaron, of Malvern, PA and Ryan Tomlinson and girlfriend, Lauren, of Hendersonville, NC, Fred Morpeth and wife Wanda, Grif Morpeth and wife, Shannon, Justin Elkins, Jonathan Elkins all of Columbus, GA, Seth Lennon of Carlisle, PA and Michael Vanderbilt, Jr. of Lakeland, FL, and great grandchildren, Brice and Preston Morpeth and Grant and Mabry Vanderbilt of Lakeland, FL.
